My male Syro has been pulling since I first watched weight pulling at a show and was really impressed with how all of the handlers made it about their dogs, and they all treated each other with warmth and respect. That was a few years ago. This past September, Syro became the first Catahoula to earn his UWPS - United Weight Pull Supreme. This requires at least 100 points on 3 of the four pulling surfaces. The last title in this category is UWPU, (Ultimate) and he is 55 Snow points away from earning that. In February he became the first Catahoula to earn the terminal title of VPU - Versatile Puller Ultimate. That consists of having at least 5 qualifying pulls on each of the four surfaces. That same weekend he became the fifth Catahoula to earn the UWPCHX - United Weight Pull Champion Excellent, which a dog earns by getting 250 points after earning the UWPCH (Champion.) (I believe that other member dogs are some of the 1-4!)
We haven't pulled competitively since that February show with everything cancelled this year. Hoping next year is a busy one for weight pull and we can work on those 250 more points toward his Grand Champion.
He does a lot of other things than weight pull, and is an easy dog to keep. (pic 2/2019)
